First Blood Donation Camp in the 37-Year History of Rashtrotthana Seva Vasati (in Slums)

This act of offering blood can melt even those who normally drain it.

Bengaluru, May 31: The Teachers of Seva Vasati, a project launched by Rashtrotthana in 1989 for the Integrated Development of Slums, participated for the first time in the Blood Donation Camp of Rashtrotthana Blood Centre in its 37-year history and donated 34 units of Blood – that too at a time when the Blood Centre was in critical need of Blood.

A One-day Orientation Training Program was organised for 150 Seva Vasati Teachers at ‘Keshavashilpa’, the headquarters of Rashtrotthana. Excluding College Girls who have not completed 18 years of age, individuals weighing less than 45 kg, and those with haemoglobin levels below 12.5 g/dL, blood donation was successful from 34 members. It was deeply touching to see the teachers, who have received service and support, return it to society through their own blood.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಮೇ 31: ಸ್ಲಂಗಳ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನವು 1989ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ ಸೇವಾವಸತಿ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿಯರು, 37 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ರಕ್ತಕೇಂದ್ರದ ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಶಿಬಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡು, 34 ಯೂನಿಟ್‍ನಷ್ಟು ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದರು, ಅದೂ ರಕ್ತಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಹುವಾಗಿ ರಕ್ತದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದ್ದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ.

ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನದ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಕಚೇರಿ, ಕೇಶವಶಿಲ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವಾವಸತಿಯ 150 ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿಯರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ದಿನದ ಪ್ರಶಿಕ್ಷಣವರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. 18 ವರ್ಷ ತುಂಬದ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಹುಡುಗಿಯರು, 45 ಕೆಜಿಗಿಂತ ಕಡಿಮೆ ತೂಕ ಇರುವವರು ಹಾಗೂ 12.5 ಗ್ರಾಂಗಿಂತ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಹಿಮೋಗ್ಲೋಬಿನ್ ಇರುವವರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ, 34 ಮಂದಿಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ತದಾನ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು. ಸೇವಾ ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿಯರು ಮರಳಿ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಅದೂ ರಕ್ತದ ಮೂಲಕ, ಬಹಳ ಹೃದ್ಯವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
