Bengaluru, May 14: The book “Avishraanta Dhyeyajeevi Mai. Ch. Jayadev: Baduku-Nenapu” (The Tireless Visionary Mai. Ch. Jayadev: Life and Memories) was released this evening at Sir Puttanna Chetty Town Hall, Bengaluru, by the Most Revered Jagadguru Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Mahaswamigalu of Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana, Srikkshetra Suttur, and Sri Dattatreya Hosabale, the respected Sarkaryavah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

On this occasion, the authors of the book — Dr Babu Krishnamurthy and Sri Beluru Sudarshan — along with Sri M. P. Kumar, President of Rashtrotthana Parishath, Sri Na. Dinesh Hegde, General Secretary, and other dignitaries were present.

Renowned singer Sri Shankar Shyanabhag rendered, melodiously and with deep emotion, the RSS song “Varabhavya Bharatada, Nirbheeta Santhatige…” — a favourite of Mai. Ch. Jayadev. The authors of the book, Dr Babu Krishnamurthy and Sri Beluru Sudarshan, were felicitated on this occasion.

Sri Mai. Ch. Jayadev (1932–2017)

Sri Mai. Ch. Jayadev was instrumental in building and nurturing the Rashtrotthana Parishath from its earliest days (1965). A skilled administrator, an extraordinary achiever, and an architect of the organisation, he adhered throughout his life to the principle of “one life, one mission”. Through his farsighted thinking, patriotic sense of duty, and tireless hard work, he enabled Rashtrotthana Parishath to take firm, steady strides across various fields of social development.

He served in various capacities in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh — as Bengaluru Mahanagar Karyavah, Prant Karyavah, Kshetriya Karyavah, Kshetriya Pracharak, and an invited member of the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini — strengthening the roots of the Sangh for over five decades. He also served as a guiding force for many social institutions in Bengaluru, such as the Mythic Society, Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs, Amruta Shishu Nivas, and Abalashrama. While inspiring these institutions to function independently in accordance with their founding objectives, Jayadev also quietly worked behind the scenes on essential matters of organisation-building and connecting the right people to the right roles.

After welcoming the dignitaries, Sri Na. Dinesh Hegde spoke introductorily, recalling that he had the privilege of working alongside Jayadev for thirty years. He remembered that even before the RSS had gained broad social acceptance, Jayadev possessed the precision and clarity to build consensus around his ideas in society, even in the most difficult circumstances. He noted that, in keeping with Jayadev’s vision of bringing Indian values into education and integrating Indian medical systems with allopathy, an integrated system was adopted at Rashtrotthana Hospital. Though Rashtrotthana and Jayadev were seen as inseparable, if the RSS ever called him for another duty, Jayadev would leave for Keshava Krupa without a second thought — surprising everyone with his detachment. He was a wonderful listener, like a blotting paper, Hegde reminisced.

Dr. Babu Krishnamurthy, speaking on the occasion, said that the task of writing about this great visionary, whom he had known closely since childhood, came to him as a thrilling experience. He was fortunate to have met Jayadev even before many of the distinguished guests present in the audience. He fondly recalled an instance when all the RSS members had gone to Nagpur and Jayadev fell seriously ill, requiring care; he also recalled their travels together in North India, during which discussions about the nation and society went on throughout the journey, and how Jayadev listened with equanimity even to his youthful, naive questions. Jayadev, he said, would calmly and precisely carry out hundreds of activities with a mindset of “I can accomplish this.” He was detached and had wholly dedicated himself to the Sangh.

Sri Dattatreya Hosabale, speaking on the occasion, said that this work of 276 pages and 28 chapters unfolds Jayadev’s life layer by layer. He remarked, “In this work, there is more gold than decoration.” The true beauty of any literary work lies in the ideas it contains, not in its external design or layout. During the collaborative effort, though there were differing opinions among the team members, a single unified view would emerge by the time the meeting concluded. Jayadev demonstrated through his own life how an institution ought to be — its ideals, conduct, its growth, and its service to society. He was not only an inspiration and guide to many organisations but also shaped the right individuals to lead them.

As an institution builder, Jayadev shouldered the responsibility of realising the dreams of the elders, grew himself, developed the organisation, and nurtured many exceptional individuals who in turn, helped the institution flourish. He worked throughout his life toward the realisation of the Sangh workers’ dream of a glorious Bharat. Hence, this work is simultaneously the life story of Jayadev and the story of the institution he built and grew. Jayadev required both depth of understanding and awareness of any subject. After listening to everything, he would ask for advice and then request that it be put in writing — and he would proceed to implement it.

This work documents many events and incidents. Jayadev always maintained that an institution is not merely a building of bricks — it succeeds only when workers treat it as their own and work accordingly — and he demonstrated this in practice. Indian culture holds that a person’s name becomes eternal through sacrifice. Jayadev was a remarkable individual who harboured no personal ambitions, sought no personal comfort, and guided countless people toward a higher purpose. This work, which speaks of how Jayadev worked behind the scenes for the institution, also narrates the growth of Rashtrotthana. When writing such a work, there is always a risk of praise slipping into flattery. Here, the authors have kept factual accuracy at the forefront. Both authors have succeeded in objectively and sincerely recounting the events of their lives, and have ensured that the work does not become a mere garland of praise, he said.

In his benedictory address, the Most Revered Jagadguru Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Mahaswamigalu began by describing Mai. Ch. Jayadev is a rare soul who dedicated his life to social service. For Jayadev, his full-time profession was akin to a part-time engagement — Sangh work was his true full-time calling. He would always come prepared with notes whenever he guided the Srimath’s Bharatiya Samskritika Parishath. He was a unique individual — not one who desired to be the king, but one who was a kingmaker. Jayadev lived by the spirit of the Atharvaveda’s words: “This earth is my mother, and I am her son.” As Allama Prabhu taught, Jayadev lived detached from the bonds of desire, and in that spirit of detachment, he strove to build a harmonious and amicable society. Even during the Emergency, while in prison, he infused courage into his fellow inmates and encouraged them to continue the struggle. Jayadev embodied the principle of “act, yet act as though you have not acted,” the Swamiji said in his benediction.

ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ಲೇಖಕರುಗಳಾದ ಡಾ. ಬಾಬು ಕೃಷ್ಣಮೂರ್ತಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಬೇಳೂರು ಸುದರ್ಶನ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್‍ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಂ. ಪಿ. ಕುಮಾರ್, ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ನಾ. ದಿನೇಶ್ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

ಖ್ಯಾತ ಗಾಯಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಶಂಕರ್‍ ಶ್ಯಾನಭಾಗ್ ಅವರು, ಮೈ. ಚ. ಜಯದೇವರ ನೆಚ್ಚಿನ, ಸಂಘದ “ವರಭವ್ಯ ಭಾರತದ, ನಿರ್ಭೀತ ಸಂತತಿಗೆ …” ಗೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಸುಶ್ರಾವ್ಯವಾಗಿ, ಭಾವಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಹಾಡಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ಲೇಖಕರುಗಳಾದ ಡಾ. ಬಾಬು ಕೃಷ್ಣಮೂರ್ತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀ ಬೇಳೂರು ಸುದರ್ಶನ ಅವರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಶ್ರೀ ಮೈ. ಚ. ಜಯದೇವ (1932 – 2017)

ಶ್ರೀ ಮೈ.ಚ. ಜಯದೇವ ಅವರು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ತನ್ನು ಆರಂಭದ ದಿನಗಳಿಂದಲೂ (1965) ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಿದವರು. ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಕುಶಲರೂ, ಅಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ದಕ್ಷರೂ, ಸಂಘಟನೆಯ ರೂವಾರಿಗಳೂ ಆಗಿ ಒಂದು ಜೀವನ, ಒಂದು ಧ್ಯೇಯಾನುಸಂಧಾನ ಎಂಬ ಸೂತ್ರವನ್ನು ಜೀವನದುದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ಪಾಲಿಸುತ್ತ, ತಮ್ಮ ದೂರದರ್ಶಿ ಚಿಂತನೆ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರನಿಷ್ಠ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ, ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮದ ಮೂಲಕ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥ ಸಮಾಜನಿರ್ಮಾಣದ ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ತು ಸ್ಥಿರ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಯಲು ಕಾರಣೀಭೂತರಾದರು.

ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕ ಸಂಘದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮಹಾನಗರ ಕಾರ್ಯವಾಹ, ಪ್ರಾಂತ ಕಾರ್ಯವಾಹ, ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರೀಯ ಕಾರ್ಯವಾಹ, ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರೀಯ ಪ್ರಚಾರಕ, ಅಖಿಲ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕಾರಿಣಿಯ ಆಮಂತ್ರಿತ ಸದಸ್ಯರು – ಹೀಗೆ 5 ದಶಕಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲ ವಿವಿಧ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿ ಸಂಘದ ಬೇರುಗಳನ್ನು ಗಟ್ಟಿಗೊಳಿಸಿದವರು. ಮಿಥಿಕ್ ಸೊಸೈಟಿ, ಗೋಖಲೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ, ಅಮೃತ ಶಿಶುನಿವಾಸ, ಅಬಲಾಶ್ರಮ – ಹೀಗೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಅನೇಕ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕರಾಗಿ ನಿಂತವರು. ಈ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಮೂಲೋದ್ದೇಶದಂತೆ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲು ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ನೀಡುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ-ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಜೋಡಣೆಯಂತಹ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆರೆಯ ಹಿಂದೆ ನಿಂತು ಮಾಡಿದವರು ಮೈ.ಚ. ಜಯದೇವ್.

ಶ್ರೀ ನಾ. ದಿನೇಶ್ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆಯವರು ಗಣ್ಯಮಾನ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ, ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತ, ಜಯದೇವರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯ ನನ್ನದಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಸಂಘದ ಬಗೆಗೆ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ Acceptability ಬರುವ ಮೊದಲೇ, ಎಂತಹ ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಮ್ಮತ ಮೂಡಿಸುವಷ್ಟು ನಿಖರತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟತೆ ಜಯದೇವರಿಗೆ ಇತ್ತು, ಎಂದು ನೆನೆದರು. ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯತೆಯನ್ನು ತರಬೇಕು, ಭಾರತೀಯ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಅಲೋಪತಿ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಇಂಟಗ್ರೇಟ್‌ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವ ಅವರ ಆಶಯದಂತೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಟಗ್ರೇಟೆಡ್‌ ಸಿಸ್ಟಂ ಅನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ಬೇರೆಯಲ್ಲ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಯದೇವರು ಬೇರೆ ಅಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಅನಿಸಿದರೂ, ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸ್ವಯಂ ಸೇವಕ ಸಂಘವು ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ಅನ್ಯ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದರೆ ಮರು ಆಲೋಚನೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೇ, ನಿರ್ಲಿಪ್ತರಾಗಿ ಕೇಶವಕೃಪಾಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಚ್ಚರಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಜಯದೇವರು, ಉತ್ತಮ ಕೇಳುಗರಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಒಂದು ಬ್ಲಾಟಿಂಗ್‌ ಪೇಪರ್ ರೀತಿ ಇದ್ದರು ಎಂದು ಅವರೊಂದಿಗಿನ ಆ ದಿನಗಳನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.

ಡಾ. ಬಾಬು ಕೃಷ್ಣಮೂರ್ತಿಯವರು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತ, ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಹತ್ತಿರದಿಂದ ಕಂಡ ಮಹಾನ್‌ ಧ್ಯೇಯಜೀವಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಬರೆಯುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನನಗೆ ಒಲಿದು ಬಂದಿದ್ದು ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ಅನುಭವ ನೀಡಿತು; ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರೆದ ಅನೇಕ ಗಣ್ಯರಿಗಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆಯೇ ನನಗೆ ಜಯದೇವರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿಯಾಗುವ ಅದೃಷ್ಟ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತು, ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಸಂಘದವರೆಲ್ಲ ನಾಗಪುರಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿದಾಗ, ಜಯದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅತೀ ಜ್ವರ ಏರಿ ಅವರ ಕಾಳಜಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ದಾರಿಯುದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ದೇಶದ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾಜದ ಬಗೆಗಿನ ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳು, ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಬಾಲಿಶ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಹ ಸಮಚತ್ತದಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೆನೆದರು. ಜಯದೇವರು ನೂರಾರು ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಚಿತ್ತದಿಂದ, ‘ನಾನು ಮುಗಿಸಬಲ್ಲೆ’ ಎನ್ನುವ ಮನೋಭಾವದಿಂದ, ನಿಖರವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಮುಗಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ನಿರ್ಮೋಹಿಯಾದ ಜಯದೇವರು ಸಂಘಕ್ಕೆ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನೇ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು ಎಂದು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.

ಶ್ರೀ ದತ್ತಾತ್ರೇಯ ಹೊಸಬಾಳೆಯವರು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತ, 276 ಪುಟಗಳ, 28 ಅಧ್ಯಾಯ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಕೃತಿಯು, ಮೈ. ಚ. ಜಯದೇವರ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಪದರು-ಪದರಾಗಿ ತೆರೆದಿಡುತ್ತದೆ. ‘ಈ ಕೃತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಂಗಾರಕ್ಕಿಂತ, ಬಂಗಾರವೇ ಜಾಸ್ತಿಯಿದೆ’ ಎಂದರು. ಯಾವುದೇ ಕೃತಿಯ ಒಳಗಡೆ ಅಡಕವಾಗಿರುವ ವಿಚಾರಗಳು ಅದರ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವೇ ಹೊರತು ಹೊರಗಿನ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸ ಅಥವಾ ಲೇಔಟ್ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಟೀಮ್ ವರ್ಕ್‌ ಮಾಡಿದ ಹಲವರಿದ್ದು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಿನ್ನಾಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವಿದ್ದರೂ ಬೈಠಕ್‌ ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಹೊರಬಂದಾಗ ಒಂದೇ ಅಭಿಮತವಿರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಒಂದು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಹೇಗಿರಬೇಕು, ಅದರ ಆದರ್ಶ, ನಡವಳಿಕೆ, ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು, ಇಂತಹ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿ ತೋರಿಸಿದವರು ಜಯದೇವರು. ಅನೇಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರಕ-ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕರಾಗಿದ್ದುದಲ್ಲದೇ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದಂಥ ಸರಿಯಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ರೂಪಿಸಿದಂಥವರು.

Institution Builder ಆಗಿದ್ದ ಜಯದೇವರು ಹಿರಿಯರು ಕಂಡ ಕನಸನ್ನು ನನಸಾಗಿಸುವ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಹೊತ್ತು, ತಾವೂ ಬೆಳೆದು, ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನೂ ಬೆಳೆಸಿದಂಥ ಅನೇಕ ವಿಶೇಷ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿದರು. ಸಂಘದ ಸೇವಕರ ಭವ್ಯಭಾರತದ ಕನಸು ಕೈಗೂಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಜೀವನದುದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಈ ಕೃತಿಯು ಜಯದೇವರ ಜೀವನಕಥೆಯೂ ಹೌದು, ಅವರು ಕಟ್ಟಿದ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಬೆಳೆದ ಕಥೆಯೂ ಹೌದು. ಜಯದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿಷಯದ ಆಳ ಮತ್ತು ಅರಿವು ಎರಡೂ ಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಎಲ್ಲ ಕೇಳಿದ ಬಳಿಕ, ಅವರ ಸಲಹೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಬರೆದುಕೊಡಿ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅದನ್ನು ಇಂಪ್ಲಿಮೆಂಟ್‌ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂದಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.

ಈ ಕೃತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಘಟನೆಗಳು ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಜಯದೇವರು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಎಂದರೆ ಬರಿ ಇಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯ ಕಟ್ಟಡವಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ತಮ್ಮದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಸಫಲವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಯೂ ತೋರಿಸಿದವರು. ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯು, ಒಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಹೆಸರು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗುವುದು ಆತನ ತ್ಯಾಗದಿಂದ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತದೆ. ಜಯದೇವರು ತಾನೇನೋ ಆಗಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವ ಆಸೆ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ, ಸ್ವಂತ ಸುಖವನ್ನು ಬಯಸದೆ, ಹತ್ತಾರು ಜನರ ಉನ್ನತಿಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಿದ ವಿಶೇಷ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ. ಜಯದೇವರು ತೆರೆಮರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಾಗಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿದರು ಎನ್ನುವುದನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವ ಈ ಕೃತಿ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನದ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೂ ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಬರೆಯುವಾಗ ಸ್ತುತಿಯೇ ಪ್ರಶಂಸೆಯಾಗಿಬಿಡುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಷಯದ ನಿಖರತೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಬರೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಬ್ಬರು ಲೇಖಕರು ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ಜೀವನದ ಘಟನಾವಳಿಗಳನ್ನಷ್ಟೇ ವಸ್ತುನಿಷ್ಠವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೃತಿಯು ಸ್ತುತಿಮಾಲೆ ಯಂತಾಗದಂತೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದರು.
